Hello,
I have a tablet with windows 10 on it. I want to install avast on it, but I only have room for it on the SD card.
Can I do this? and if I do this and i disconnect the SD card at some point, will it cause corruption to the system?

Avast is required to be installed on the main system to run, you can use an SD card to transfer the Avast install exe file to then be installed on the system.
Once Avast is installed then you can remove the SD card.
If there is not enough room on the tablet to install avast, Windows 10 shouldn’t even be on it or you have too much other things (crap, temp files etc) on it.
You can select where to install avast and what components of avast you want to install, but still many files need to be on the OS partition. (some in the Windows folder)
As avast is not a portable application, there will be registry entries.
So removing the SD card (if you install avast on that), will corrupt the system as it tries to load things from avast at boot time that are not there.
It is like with a car.
You put fuel in it and start the engine, then you remove the fuel tank.
Will the car keep functioning ?
Ofcourse not as you removed a vital part.
