Don’t see a reason why frames would be dropped. At least not when encoding video in offline mode… CPU is CPU, they both do the same job. It mostly depends on how powerful you use. Comparing 3,4GHz Intel with Athlon XP 2100+ is not really realistic thing to do on the other hand…
It is very subjective some swear by Intel some swear at Intel.
It is hard to judge by looking at any marketing blurb but generally AMD has better value for money (bang for your buck). If you have decided how much you have to spend, then you can compare what would be available from each company.
If you aren’t planning on upgrading your motherboard/RAM you will be limited as to what CPU it can support, since you are already using a P4 motherboard you are limited to Intel processors that match the motherbord CPU socket.
I have been using AMD processors for over 10 years for, value for money, don’t run as hot and generally lend themselves to overclocking if needed. Some of the Dual 64bit and single 64bit processors are very nice indeed, but you would need to update other items.
AMD v.s. Intel is indeed a subjective matter. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. More important is choosing a good quality motherboard, RAM, strong power-supply (very important), HD, video card, case etc…
Here are some articles for you to read concerning AMD & Intel pricing:
Ur rite…It’s not the process prob here…yep the quality with my motherboard… ???i do have a good power supply…expensive one…really 500W…I still prefer Intel processoer…planing to buy gigabyte motherboard and intel 3.2 ghz with L2 2mb cache memory.and memory kingmax 1 gB ram DDR 400 mhz…hope that better…
