Hey pete319,
My motherboard was vulnerable and i did a bios update the night before yesterday…
Hi nmb
Glad that now your motherboard isn’t vulnerable.
I have never updated the BIOS, if i did it would most likely never work again. :-[ My motherboard is AMD
Hi nmb
Cause normally when i do things for the first time, if there is a way to stuff up, i will find it.
It only affects Intel motherboards. You’re safe.
I’m screwed, I tried to access the BIOS when pressing F2 repeatedly at restart and nothing happened.

Not good news not being able to get into your BIOS.
Check your motherboard manufacturer with Belarc Advisor:

On my XP Pro system:
Processor a
2.80 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
8 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Not hyper-threaded
Main Circuit Board b
Board: IBM IBM
Bus Clock: 133 megahertz
BIOS: IBM 2AKT51AUS 07/06/2005
As a general rule, never update the bios unless you’re having the problem the update solves. At the present time (not always, not forever) Intel leads the chip field.
Hello Corday
As a general rule, never update the bios unless you’re having the problem the update solves.
I wouldn’t do that. there might be some security issues. as you can see the advisory…
I’ll surely update.
