intelmefwservice.exe evo-gen susp?

I just did a virus scan and it says Threat Detected intelmefwservice.exe Threat: Win32: Evo-gen [susp]

but it gives no remedy, it doesn’t show a column for action (delete, fix automatically, etc).

Is this a false positive? Why does it only detect it but not give any method of fixing or quarantining it?

upload intelmefwservice.exe to www.virustotal.com if tested before, click rescan for a fresh result post link to scan result here

post a screenshot here

Here’s the screenshot (attached)

I did the virustotal thing, rescanned, and it said it was completely clean

You can report a possible FP here: https://www.avast.com/contact-us.php?subject=VIRUS-FILE

you have detected a prosess loaded in memory … you can not move/delete a prosess as it is not a file, so buttons are gray

anyway, we dont see this often anymore but this detection is usually a result of user fiddling with scan settings

you have probably selected “scan memory” and this is the result… remove that and detection should go away

detection in memory used to be one of the most frequently asked questions in the forum … search and see
for a problem free avast operation, use default scan settings

Ah, so it’s a problem with avast’s memory scanner.

Thanks for the info, now I know there is no virus on my computer.

Hopefully avast improves its memory scanner

No it is not a problem, it is knowing what happens when changing default settings

Avast’s memory scanner option gives a false positive for intelmefwservice.exe. That’s not a problem?
