I have and it isn’t good news, just check out the av-comparatives.org tests August 2010, it got a Tested ranking, didn’t even achieve Standard, so effectively it failed many FPs, and only 80.1% detection. This has basically been the same for some time.

No need to reproduce their marketing propaganda in your post, anyone interested can co and read about it at their site.

+1 …but the OP feels better, after advertising the product, when saying in the end that he’s sticking to Avast after all ;D

when saying in the end that he’s sticking to Avast after all

Do I Need An Antivirus Program If I Don’t Use Windows?

For a long time now Microsoft has been the biggest company around when it came to the tech world.

But now we are starting to see other platforms emerge.

You’ll be extremely pleased to hear that Windows 7 is very secure

Key statements

So while you might not need antivirus software now, I’m sure you will very soon in the future.

If you want to stay ahead of the pack and make sure that you are secure then if the devices are offered antivirus protection, you might as well use it.

You probably already know this, but it was new to me

Internet Explorer Wins OTA Award for Online Trust Oct 07/2010 by James Pratt

Browser security is similar in some respects to the MPG of your car; everyone might say it’s very important but the real value often doesn’t hit home until gas prices jump or budgets are tight. Similarly, consumers often only realize the importance of having a trusted, secure browser after they have been on the receiving end of some malicious act; at this point the damage may have already been done.

Hence browser developers must be vigilant and work hard to protect customers from attacks. The work of external organizations such as Online Trust Alliance (OTA) is also important in this effort. OTA is a non profit that contributes to the safety of products by facilitating collaboration on subjects pertinent to security, promoting practices that enhance product security, and contributing to public policy in online services. OTA also recognizes work done to improve the security of products.

Internet Explorer 8 is humbled to be recognized as the recipient of 2010 Excellence in Online Trust Award by (OTA) on September 23. This award represents a strong commitment by Microsoft and Internet Explorer to follow the OTA principles.

[s]7Conifier: Change Default Taskbar and Start Menu Icons in Windows 7
http://www.askvg.com/7conifier-change-default-taskbar-and-start-menu-icons-in-windows-7/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AskVG+(AskVG)[/s]

Do NOT recommend.
Could mess the icons (the restore is not total) and has a very little set of icons, i.e., it does not apply to all icons but for only a small set of them.
