Name: LicenseCrawler
Last Version: 0.0.40
Release date: 2009-04-22

If you want to setup your computer system again you need to have the licenses and serial numbers at hand for all the software programs that you have purchased and registered. This does include the Windows product key but also other serial numbers for applications like Nero, Office, VMWare and pretty much every other application.

I had a chance to look at an early version of Google’s Android Operating System.
I have it available for download at MySharedFiles as a Live CD ISO file.
Simply download, burn and boot from the CD.
You can also use the disc image in a virtualization application like VirtualBox, VMWare or Microsoft Virtual PC
if you want to try the operating system without even rebooting your computer.

Remember this is designed for a Netbook and is still a very early beta release.
I had no luck on my system getting it to recognize my WIFI connection.

You’ll find the .iso file and some screenshots at:
http://mysharedfiles.no-ip.org/GoogleAndroid/

I know Tech had posted about an earlier version of this some time back.

Hi Bob,

Now typing this from the android browser

It’s a bit weird, and seems like it is still optimised for the phone they have (things like using the shift button - only the left one works, because as far as I know there is only one on the actual phone)… normal functions are a bit odd, and it is a bit of a learning curve…

Nice to see google going further though

-Scott-

[edit] added a screenshot from outside the VM ;D
This has also inspired me to try ubuntu as well…

Nice to see it worked for you Scott.
Unfortunately I was never able to get on line since it wouldn’t recognize my wifi.

Pretty slick. I’ll have to try it out.

Do you think google is going to be “evil” with the OS? I know they save every search ever made by every IP address, what will they attempt to do with their own OS?

Still cool to see a search engine develop their own OS!

I know they save every search ever made by every IP address
It comes in handy when you need to find something you once posted but can't remember where or when. :)

Report: Final version of free Microsoft Security Essentials to ship September 29

Microsoft is now confirming MSE will ship on September 29. From a spokesperson: “I can confirm that Microsoft Security Essentials, the company’s highly anticipated no cost consumer security offering, will be released to the public tomorrow, September 29th.” It will be available in 19 markets worldwide, according to the company.

More Info:

Microsoft Security Essentials will be available in eight languages and 19 countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

With virtually everyone having a dynamically assigned IP address it doesn’t present a privacy/security issue, but it does give them valuable general marketing information. This will no doubt bring in some revenue to help with the lots of free applications/services and even the development of the new OS that they provide ;D

Most expensive netbook!
this one looks so cool i wanna have it in my bare hands!!
