Its 23:31 minutes long and well worth watching

@Yokenny I think you should have started a new thread in the general topics section for this…that’s an interesting video deserving more than one entry in this thread

oh okay, thanks Asyn

NP Logos.

That now makes 4 entries (or is it 5) ;D ;D ;D

3, afaik. ;D

If you like Firefox4 but are used to the layout of Firefox 3,
try the following:
http://www.askvg.com/how-to-make-mozilla-firefox-4-0-look-like-firefox-3-0/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AskVG+(AskVG)

I can see why some people will not like the change, but I do prefer it. Now, I only have the tab bar and the address bar on mine. When maximised, the firefox button merges with the tab bar so I actually have more space with 4 (I think)

Well you don’t have to maximize FF4 for the firefox button and tab bar to merge, if you have tabs on top it merges no matter what the window size is.

See image 1022pix wide when I have 1920 available (top) and maximised (bottom).

Though I don’t like having Tabs on top, for me it looks disjointed when they are separated from the actual page content.

Mine doesn’t seem to do that…

As for the disjointed thought, it doesn’t look like it is here. But that may just be the way you have it set up, with the bookmark toolbar that you have

That toolbar is invaluable for me as you can tell a lot of it is forum related. Not that FF4 is here there is probably a more convenient way to do it than with FF3.6. But for now I’m in no rush to investigate, lazy I guess ;D

Yeah I did have a similar toolbar, but now I have tab groups instead  I find it much quicker to get to the page I want.

Right-click on the the toolbar and click on Tabs on Top (or whatever it exactly is in your language).

I did that, “tabs on top” is checked, but it doesn’t merge unless maximised… ???

I can’t believe you guys are discussing a topic that’s never been an issue on hundreds of Minefield builds since June last year… there’s never been any issue switching from new to old UI style… happens in two clicks… no tutorial needed lol ;D … + one magic click to make the status bar appear or not, yeah that’s three … and askvg managed to make a tuto for that

ps: an advanced “extra” ( ) tip: press alt to make the file menu temporarily appear while in new UI mode. There use to be an extension for that during the beta testing, now it’s integrated.

that’s normal ;D

Not necessarily: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=28748.msg625008#msg625008

don’t know what the behavior’s on XP, for me on Seven, tabs and ff button merge only when maximized. That’s a design thing.

… but I still got the disjointed FF button and tabs (on top) when FF maximized, ie not exactly aligned. Might (just a guess) be a matter of whether you use a personas skin or a “classic” skin, or a matter of screen resolution… yeah that’s most likely after all.

ps: on a side note, very few classic skins are available for FF4, as they got to work with both old and new UI style, and the only available ones are absolutely ugly.
