I think I might have identified the culprit.
I turned off the ‘Private Browsing’ function at the website appear more inclined to load.
Perhaps others could try it and report back on their experiences?

I don’t have that function turned on. Never did ???
Which Firefox configuration do you have?
Which Add-ons etc?
Thanks also too Sammo,
I have been able to do a manual update from firefox also and only one add-on had to be disabled (over and above those that didn’t work with 3.5), Translator, which I use relatively infrequently, so I will see if that gets an update soon.
I have however been fortunate in 3.5 and 3.5.1 and no issues with sites loading, what a pain if it could get any worse than normal dial-up, although 3.5 has brought a noticeable speed increase in page loading.
It isn’t my configuration since I had no problems before the update. Neither did any of the other users who now have the same problem since 3.5 came out.
3.5.1 from what I read didn’t address the connection or lack of connection problem but rather addressed a security problem.
Right now I’m using Google Chrome as my default till Mozilla sorts out this problem.
