Recently avast started blocking my internet connection. I have to disable avast just to connect to the internet. How do I fix this problem?
do you have a firewall?
Hi, what is the exact popup(if there is any)? Could you reply what was the infection(it may be caused by other problem and you may not be infected). You can view it by going to avast>security>antivirus>internet shield>show logs button(in the lower right corner).
I have windows firewall. Avast firewall isn’t active after i disable avast the internet works again. I scanned the pc with avast and there were pups nothing too major and then it did a start up scan where it asked what to do with certain detections and I entered what should be done with it and it went on scanning so I left it alone and my laptop died and since then I had to disable avast.
what was detected?.. can you attach a screenshot of avast chest
follow guide and attach the requested logs (not copy and paste) http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
run in order listed
AdwCleaner / Malwarebytes / OTL / aswMBR
when done removal experts will be notified and check the logs for infections…
if trouble running any of the Tools, try run from safe mode…
Hello I would like to comment that I’ve been experiencing similar problems with my internet connection but that it has been caused by Avast anti virus interfering with my network adapter’s drivers. I tried switching to another harddrive that i have which is running on Windows XP and that doesn’t have avast installed on it, and internet worked absolutely perfectly. When I switched back to my main harddrive my internet was working again. I was told by my isp provider that avast seems to be affecting people’s network adapter a lot and that they have been receiving a lot of complaints originating from this issue. Maybe Avast developers might want to look into this and see if it can be fixed.
