Internet Connection Problems

I am connected to the internet, Safari and MSN work, however after downloading Microsoft Office Suite, I can not connect to FireFox or IE.

I checked to see if my firewall was maybe blocking it, but it is not.

When I try to load FireFox it says that something is interrupting it’s connection.

Any ideas?

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashWebSv.exe internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

to my knowledge i do not have a firewall enabled.

That is most certainly a lapse in security as a firewall is an essential part of it.

So what did you check to see if your firewall was blocking ?

What is the full text of any displayed errors ?

Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

Try terminating the Web Shield provider in avast and see if that makes any difference ?
