???HELP!!!
Every time I go into my Internet Explorer, WWW.aol.com is my home page, Avast pops up with a red box in the right corner detecting a threat. I hear it say “Threat has been detected”.
and displays…
Malicious URL Detected
Object: clkads.com/adserve/static/btgen-im.ntml?tid=SWIM01
Infection: URL:Mal
Action: Blocked
Process:C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
Any time I open a link, mail etc. It pops up again.
What is this I have done a full scan with explorer open and closed.
And nothing changes.
Can any one give my advice to stop this?
first welcome to the forum.
its sounds like the aol page have been hijacked.
i suggest you download install and scan with malwarebytes antimalware. and see what it founds.
http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
don’t forget to update it before scanning.
have you scanned with avast?
good luck and let us know how it goes for you. or if you need more help.
Disable or uninstall any Toolbars. They access URLs and run scripts in the background while you surf.
I would get this Network Shield alert all the time:
Object: clkads.com/visicom/sl1.html?tid=42
The ooVoo Toolbar (installed by others in my household ::)) was causing this alert.
Today is a new day!
I get on my computer, and Wal La, No Malware notice!!!
I will do what you suggest just for future precautions!
Thank you so Much! ;D
I did scan with everything I have.
Same problem today with FireFox 16.0.1
See this report here: clkads.com/adserve/static/btgen-im.ntml?tid=SWIM01
avast web rep gives a yellow indication
malware instances have been on there, up-time as to 11,5 hrs before found “dead”-> html_RFI_eval malcode instances…
location pathname not found. No alerts given now on urlQuery scan and Zscaler zulu scan…all instances of malcode now found to be dead by VW!
avast has unblocked an AOL IP.see Milos’s reply here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=107442.msg853494#msg853494
