Yesterday I was prompted to install IE8 and thought nothing of it.
After the installation I rebooted and tested it, but when I click on the internet explorer icon I can see (in process explorer) that it loads and is instantly killed. (still happens today)
This isn’t much of a problem for me as I don’t use IE when I can but the others here do, so this is a bit of a problem.
I had this in a XP system… it was so hard that I need to reinstall Windows, install XP SP3 and IE8. Then it works. Probably some glitch in my computer, but I never knew what happened. Wish you more luck. Maybe uninstall IE8, boot, install or update IE7 and try getting IE8 again.
Thank you very much Omid!!!
Worked a charm
I’m typing this now in IE, Its incredibly faster, still takes ages to start though…more RAM please…
maybe I might use it again…
Tech,
This was my worry, after reading about your problems I was afraid I would have similar issues, but I seem to have been fairly lucky.
in IE8, go to “Tools” menu and then “Manage add-ons”, in opened window, in “load times” column see which add-ons has been takes more time to load, disable all those add-ons that you don’t need, toolbars and…
it would makes IE load time much more faster and more stable and use less Ram
