I’ve been using Avast for a long time without problems but the latest version is blocking Internet access. I uninstalled and reinstalled and added an exception in Comodo. If I stop the web shield everything works normally. I notice some others have this problem too.
I had a similar problem when I upgraded to Internet Security today after the free trial. I could only connect to the internet after I disabled Web Shield completely. Unchecking individual components within the Expert settings did not work. Also, the Firewall could not start regardless of whether Web Shield was disabled or not.
I managed to resolve both problems using “Uninstall or Change a Program” in Control Panel (Win 7) using the “Change” feature. I didn’t make any modification to the check boxes, just clicked “Next”. When it had finished, it was all good.
I have Avast on another computer and it is fine but I haven’t yet upgraded. The previous version was good too so it is definitely the upgrade. Other people are having the same problems. How do I delete all the entries in Comodo? Avast is marked as a Trusted application in Comodo.
