Internet Is Very Erratic - Can You Help With This?

Hi,

For the last few days my internet is extremely erratic. For example, at the moment I’m running a very heavy sopcast stream and also a quality flash stream at the same time (because I can’t understand the commentary on the sopcast stream) and both are working fine. However, at times if I try to access a simple web page it takes AGES.

I have tried controlling the speeds on various websites and get varying results on each. I have run malwarebytes and avast and both say there is no problem. My modem is password protected to it shouldn’t be a problem of leeching.

I know this forum is normally for dealing with virus problems but you’ve helped me with your expertise in the past and since the ISP aren’t helpful I thought I’d give you guys a shot.

Not sure how we could help you with this issue…!?

If I ran all those checks you advise when there is a virus, would it show if there is a problem with my computer?

It could.

Great, I’ll try that then and post them up, thanks.

OK. You’re welcome.

I ran adwcleaner and it already seems a lot faster ??? - Still getting erratic results though even if it is a little faster.

I’ll run the other things and put the reports up but here is the adwcleaner one.

I can’t find the other OTL report?

Second last scan.

I’m not convinced I did the ASWmbr scan properly so I did it again.

Finally

Not a lot there … Does this occur in all browsers

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
[*]Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.

Yes in both firefox and chrome. The thing I can’t understand though is it takes AGES to load the simplest of websites but then earlier I was using sopcast player and flash player at the same time and both were bombing along. I’ll do what you said and post the report.

Here’s the file.

I’ll let you know if its running quickly (I do tentatively feel its improved but I hesitate to say for definite because its been good then poor then good then poor before…)

How does IE perform ?

When I go to speedtest.net with IExplorer it asks me to download Flash Player 11.5 then tells me I must uninstall Real Player.

I can’t find the real player add on in manage add-ons though.

IExplorer seems a bit faster.

Without using speed test how does it feel to be performing ?

IExplorer is quite significantly faster.

Chrome
Ping 41ms
Download 5.54 Mbps
Upload 2.64 Mbps - this is quite ok, its the upper two that are bad.

IExplorer
Ping 26ms
Download 16.97 Mbps (should be near to 25Mbps but at least its better).
Upload 2.70 Mbps.

Even IExplorer is criminally slow.

I might have been too quick to say that, I’m giving it a good try now.

Disable real player in chrome and then check the speed

I’ve disabled real player and real jukebox. Others I have in there are: Adobe Flash, Chrome Remote, QuickTime, NativeClient, Chrome PDF, Torrent Stream, Adobe Reader, Google Update, Silverlight. I disabled Torrent Stream as well as its horrible, should I disable any others?
