Internet Mail not scanning

Normally I wouldnt care because the outlook tab is scanning but its always nice to have everything running I suppose.
When I go to the Internet mail I see nothing is being scanned. I just looked at the manual for avast and followed all steps one by one by entering ports and what not.
I pull my e-mail from a pop account on yahoo which uses encrypted connections of ssl
I read a post from last year about avast not able to scan ssl but didnt know if they worked that out like the post said or what?

You need to use avast 5 (still in beta phase) to scan SSL mail.
Which is your email program? MS Outlook? So, you don’t use the Internet Mail provider…

normally the Outlook/Exchange tap scans the e-mails and Internal Mail does nothin but run. Id perfer everything working… is 5 stable yet?

It will work if you use it… otherwise it will stay running and waiting for you to open an email client (pop3/smtp). If it is running it’s ready to scan when needed.

You need Stunnel – Universal SSL Wrapper to work with SSL POP3 email:

I could not get it to work with Windows Live Mail but there have not been problems reported with MS Outlook.
