internet running extremley slow after installing avast

Hi,

I recently installed avast because it was recommended to me but after the installation it was almost impossible to use the internet.
My emails wouldn’t load, I could not get on trusted sites, sometimes a site would only load half.
I unistalled avast and the internet worked just fine.

I really liked the programm though and I don’t know of any other free anitvirus programm that is good.
So hopefully someone can help me so I can trust avast and download it again!

Have you checked your computer for malware with

Malwarebytes Antimalware 1.44 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
UPDATE and run quick scan. Click the “REMOVE SELECTED” button to quarantine anthing found and restart

Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?

This sounds more like firewall blocking:
What is your firewall ?
Does it allow AvastSvc.exe internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and try to collect your email and browse the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.

It would have been nice if you had tried to let us help you before uninstalling, you could have stopped the web shield to connect and mail shield to collect email, that would at least have let you get that done and still have the file system shield as a back-up.
