Internet Security 2015 version causing offline status and browsers not to load

Since installing the newest Avast Internet Security 2015 version on my pc it has been blocking access to the web, I have to constantly reload pages to get them to load at all. And within Avast itself it is telling me I am offline. I don’t get it. What’s going on? This is very annoying.

Even getting to this forum was a task. Please help!

Win 7, 64

Edit 2: The messages I am getting are Server Not Found when trying to load pages.

Edit: sorry for the earlier multiple posts, starting reporting them to mods. Avast is causing my browser to not load right, or I have some other problems, but I think it is Avast. Help.

Others deleted

Open Avast > tools > firewall
Click settings at the bottom
Place a tick in the two boxes marked
Set the rules drop down to ask
Reboot and try again

Hello again essexboy,

Sorry about the multiple posts, I started reporting them as I soon as I saw it and if the system let me actually do it.

I made the changes you suggested and all seems well now, thank you. Do I need to make any additional changes?

Nope you should be good now

Ok it’s back to doing it again… Server Not Found when trying to load pages. It is not doing to all but it is sporadic…

Could you check to see if the settings held… Also are you on a network

Settings held, not on a network. I do have a D-link wi-fi connected to my modem, but that’s been connected for a year… not sure if that is playing some role in this or not…

Is your connection set to private on the first firewall page

Yes, it is.

See above, and also I noticed that when I open more and more windows the problem tends to get worse.

Did you have any other firewall previous to this, also what was your previous antivirus

Download Avast Uninstall Utility to your Desktop.
Download the correct version of Avast
Avast Free
Avast Pro
Avast Internet Security
Avast Premier
Disconnect from the net
Uninstall Avast via control panel

[]Run the uninstall tool and accept the reboot to safe mode
[
]Once complete reboot your system
[*]Reinstall Avast

Should I change the setting to public? Or leave it on private?

I only use superantispyware. That has never caused any problems.

My previous virus software was Avast, and Avast asked me to update to the latest version which is Internet Security 2015. So I am pretty sure the correct one is already installed. I am a paid member.

As you have been running Avast for a while then you have probably done update over update this is an area where errors can creep in. Hence the fresh install, ensure that you have your licence file handy to insert when asked and let me know if a fresh install does the trick. Yes keep it at private

Ok got it.

I have run through all the steps and am now testing the system, so far it is ok, but I want to see what happens when I have 50-100 tabs open in FF.

I have already gone back through the Firewall settings also and made those three changes you gave me from the beginning of our chat. I assume those would still need to be changed, so I did it. Will reply back here if any issues, thank you.

No problem, generally when we come to a version change I always do a clean install
