Internet Security

I know this is going to sound dumb, but is Internet Security also supposed to take care of spyware and malware???

the free version already does

The reason I ask is that I often find other spyware in my system after I have done a scan with Internet Security. Also I recently had a phoney Anti-Virus attack my system and cause some havoc while Avast was running.

Internet Security uses the same Antispyware engine as the Free version. You got infected because AV’s can’t have 100% detection. Try virtualizing your browser to make browsing the internet safer. (Right-click your browser and select “Run virtualized” or “Always run in sandbox”)

Thanks for the advice. Being unafraid to show my ignorance however, when you said right click on the browser you lost me.

Whatever browser you are using you must have an icon on your desktop(Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera). You usually double click to open it, this time right-click on it and you will see the options “Run virtualized” and “Always run in sandbox”. Click on one of those.

I tried the right click on IE and didn’t see the items referenced above. I hate when I can’t see what should be obvious.
