Internet slowdowns until yesterday - maybe because of avast! or what??

For the past half year, my internet was horrible. It was very slow, and it broke off a lot. It was acceptable only a few times.
The net is fine since yesterday, when I updated to 6.0.1000
To be honest, I thought that the slow-downs and break-downs are caused by avast!. I disabled or uninstalled avast! few times. In some occasions, the browsing speed increased then, but not always.
The problems started when I was using 5.0.594 (but not after the update).
Any ideas or known bugs in avast! 5.0 and 5.1 which can occur any extra slow-down and break-off?

PS: Sorry for my bad English.

All seems to be OK since you updated to 6.0 so does it really matter about 5.x?

Yes, we should. I would like to know what was the reason of the terrible and horrible internet for a long half year!!!

I understand it.
But I would like to know if there was a bug that could cause problems like mine.

If there were a bug that was in avast that would cause this then the forums would be alive with such reports and that just doesn’t seem to have happened.

The problem being there can be many different user system configurations and software that interact differently together, change one or more and that issue may be no more. Unfortunately that doesn’t say exactly where the problem lay, just that it isn’t happening any longer.

May be an error would be in the AIS 6.1… Also so many size different between AIS 6.0 to 6.1. I have very slow interconnection while use AVast Firewal. So i go back to the Avast 5.1 ??? >:(

There is no AIS 6.1 the current version is 6.0.1000, so there was no change from 6.0 to 6.1.
