Internet Speed Degradation

Hi avast! Fellows,

Recently I notified my browsing/internet speed is not at its level. After notifying degradation, I thought it has to do something with my ISP. But lately I have confirmed that there is no problem with ISP and connection. Then I started to suspect avast! as I have no other real time protection. However when I stops real-time protection of avast!, my browsing speed comes back to normal.

Any ideas from community?

System Specs & Security S/W: Windows XP SP3, Intel Pentium IV 2.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM, avast! IS 6.0.1289, MBAM (On-Demand)

Absolutly no problem with browsing/internet speed on my system.

Check your speed with http://speedtest.net

Depending on the website you are attempting to go to and the number of scripts etc your browser may slow down.

Be grateful avast! is doing its job. :slight_smile:

Ya mate. But for example I had to wait more time to access Wikipedia with avast! ON. However today I restored factory settings to default. Now it seems no problem with internet/browsing speed. BTW I didn’t touch any settings earlier. Don’t know what happened, it just happened.

Be grateful avast! is doing its job.

I Love avast! and I just wanted to report my problem for avast! guys to take a note of that mate :slight_smile:
