INTNAL. SMS CHARGED TO MY BILL

I’ve received a surprise, bad surprise when reviewing my mobile bill… 54 € in charges of SMS mesagging to a number I didnt know… +420720001669 The number belong to Avast and every SMS is 0.45 €. Is anyone in Avast paying this? For sure I wasn’t conscious to be sending these SMS, and I dont remember to have approved these sendings. Has anybody had the same problem?

Hi,

during the setup of Anti-Theft you are notified of that and given a choice to disable that. These SMS are used to inform you (or your avast! Account) of any changes in the mobile number that occur so you can still control your phone via SMS commands.

Hey Filip,

isn’t it more important WHY a buttload of SMS was sent?
OP doesn’t say anything about a changed SIM or a stolen phone so these messages seem unnecessary.
