Introducing Avast Secure Browser PRO

Hello everyone,

With the Browser 91.1, we are excited to finally start rolling out Avast Browser PRO for our beta Windows desktop users. Our premium subscription tier has been available on mobile for quite some time and today marks the next phase in bringing it to all our customers, whatever platform they are on.

We understand that for you to get the best security and privacy online you also need to encrypt your connection through a VPN. We see a great opportunity to make VPNs much easier to use and accessible, all within the application you use most to access the internet, your browser. You can read more about PRO here and in our FAQs.

Where is it available?

We are rolling out automatically to our US beta users first to make sure everything is working before a wider rollout. If you can’t wait, we’ve provided some instructions below on how to enable it.

How do I try it out?

If you haven’t already seen the feature in the latest 91.1 release, you can enable using the following instructions:

[ol]- Make sure you are on v91.1 or later by going to secure://settings/help

  • In secure://flags you will need to enable Browser PRO (if not enabled yet) and click relaunch button
  • You should now see the VPN icon show up in the left of the address bar. Here you can learn more about PRO. You can try it out for free for 7 days with no credit card required.[/ol]

We’re super excited to hear your thoughts and feedback. In particular, we’re interested in understanding the speed and stability of the VPN connection across a wide number of websites, this is hard for us to test internally.

This is our first version so we really want to understand how we can make it better by listening to our community. We hope you like it!
