Or, you can use the in-product “program update” feature (this applies to all v5.x and 6.0 users, including those who are running any of the previous betas).
Note: If you have any problems with this new version, please do NOT post to this thread; start a new topic instead. Ideally one topic per issue.
Thanks

Official?! Not Pre-Relase?! You mean this is the very new stable release, or what?!
Thanks!
Notice: Upgraded via GUI; restart and let’s see.

Thanks Vlk updating from 6.0.1086 UI.
Edit: Update from UI and reboot went fine on both my systems, XP Pro SP3 and win7 x86.

Is this official official? As in not beta? Is it best to uninstall our current versions or is it fine just to use the internal updater?
Updated via GUI.
Running smooth.
WMP 11: black/blue normal appearance on XP.

It is official (as in “not beta”), and it should be safe to use the in-product updater.

- setup programs now smaller by ~20%
The actual setup of avast free has 63.2 MB.
The setup of avast! free version 6.0.1000 has 55 MB.
Did it reduce something after all?

Most likely 20% smaller then previous beta’s

The virus database, contained in the setup package, grows continuously, as new detections are added - so if a new 6.0.1000 package was generated now, it would be bigger (besides, there are probably some additions to the program - there are new voiceovers in one or two languages, if we’re talking about multi-language setup).

Rebooted.
1st look everything seems works well. I didn’t have any WMP issue at all, but checked and nice Blue as ever. (Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1 + WU)
WebRep in Fox4 also working OK. Nothing bug with Google.
Really thanks your job! Grat!

No problems yet.
Thanks avast! team and beta testers.

Updated via GUI and rebooted. No luck for me with Windows media player. Still that horrible red colour on Windows XP home SP3.

Updated AIS from GUI; no new issues. Minor firewall issues previously reported persist; too late to fix in this build.

Same here, WMP still broken. Which was expected.
Anyway, it is not the red color only, it is that all the related preferences are dead, they show but they don’t have any effect. Same for the “reset to default” button, dead.

Although I still have the red colour, by going to view skin chooser, if I change the skin to revert, then immediately close wmp, the next time I open it, and go to full view it is in the normal blue colour. Unfortunately as soon as I close and then re-open again, it’s back to red. Re-installing Avast 5 returns wmp to normal operation.
