Well, that didn’t last long. About two days to be exact.

Firefox has now released 8.0B1.

I just installed it and WebRep is working with it.

One caveat. You made need to install the Add-On Compatibility Reporter 0.9.2 from the Firefox Add-on website to get WebRep to work.

The other thing that you need to do is to make sure to check off the avast! WebRep box in the new version of the check of add-ons during the installation of Firefox 8.0B1. If you forget you can always go to Tools-----Addons--------WebRep click on Enable and restart Firefox. It should then show up on the Firefox Navigation Toobar when Firefox restarts and be working.

There are a couple of security enhancements in 8.0 including

WebSockets updates: Firefox now prevents the use of plaintext WebSockets when created from an SSL page, which improves security for users.
