Does Bt hub 5 hide your IP address? I’ve looked it up and it doesn’t say. Also if someone gets hold of your ip address can they steal and monitor you internet traffic?
Does a vpn hide that or if you have bt hub 5 with WPA2 do you not need a vpn?
Thanks!
Sorry, but does but hub 5 hide all my devices behind its it address which apparently changes from time to time so all my traffic is secure so I don’t need a vpn on my home network
bt hub 5 is just a real simple router.
Real downside is that it only works with BT internet and PlusNet connections, although there seem to be a way to make it work with other ISP’s.
You question if it hides your IP can’t be answered if you do not tell what IP you are talking about.
You may wanna hide it, but your ISP and the developer of the service is not any longer allowed to hide it from U.K. officials under recent regulations of law. When asked for the data by U.K. Officials developers have 24 hours to supply authorities with all your data demanded.
And that is the law of the land, now. So on the developer part encryption has now become unprotected, they are oblidged to comply.
You however may try to use whatever e2e encryption you like, but it will bring those developers that allow you to do so into trouble when a judge comes knocking for your surveillance data. These are alas the times we live in, and that is also true for where you are like on Duke’s Ride.
