Every time my pc (Dell Optiplex GX620 with Windows XP Pro W/SP3) try to start avastui.exe get the next error: the procedure entry point cancelipchangenotify could not be located in the dynamic library IPHLPAPI.DLL
see instructions here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
scroll down to Farbar Recovery Scan Tool … run it and attach diagnostic logs
That function should certainly be present in IPHLPAPI.dll on XP SP3 (it was added in XP SP2).
Unless Pondus finds something, I’d suggest to search for IPHLPAPI.dll on your disk (to make sure there’s no old copy outside of the System folder) - and if not, then try to reinstall SP3.
On Windows XP that file should be present in 2 folders.
- Windows\system32
and - Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\
Make sure you have enabled “show system files/hidden files and folders”
Search your entire main drive and see if you have them.
If it shows up in any other place then the ones I mentioned, let us know where.
If they only show up in the places I mentioned, do the following:
start > run > cmd [enter]
In the box that opens, type:
regsvr IPHLPAPI.DLL [enter]
Close the box and reboot the system
See if that solved the problem.
You can also fix it from here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?iphlpapi

Polonus,
check the readme.txt in the download.
It says the same as I already did
