Security specialists said Saturday that hackers are taking increasing aim at iPhones and Macintosh computers as the hot-selling Apple devices gain popularity worldwide.http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080810051102.njhra1ru&show_article=1
This was inevitable, The more popular Apple products get, the more attention they will get from the hacker community.
Nothing earth shattering. That’s the price of fame…
Microsoft has been dealing with this for years.
Increased attention comes with the increase in Market Share, but to date there has been a lot of talk and no real exploits. The market, although increasing, is still to small for any large scale attacks. Until There is any real widespread attacks it will continue to be just talk.
However there is good things happening for MS :):

“the tallest nail gets hammered down”
Thats my reply to people when they say “Mac’s dont get viruses”
I wonder when this becomes “publicly” know what it will do for the recent Mac popularity
Most likely wont phase it. There are so many other reasons for switching to Mac OS X, like recently its not even so much the virus argument, its people dont want Vista. As long as Microsoft keeps shipping windows in its current form the Mac will remain popular.
Ive seen a few of the reasons to switch to Mac being a graphic designer by trade I have been pretty much forced to work with them and have seen nothing all that extraordinary or anything compelling to switch to Mac despite friends who are Mac users trying to convert me, as for the vista part as ive said in many posts before Ive used Vista for awhile experimented and loved it never got a BSOD yet sure theres been a few incompatibilities on it but not that much of a problem these are just my views though personally I have had a experience pretty “close to home” my fiance was thinking of getting a Mac because of her and her Mom seeing the “buy a mac” tv ad’s and went into the local Apple store and absolutely Hated it but they have their reasons as well

EDIT- I may come off as Anti-Mac and im not its another Pc to me Im just putting it out there that the Mac Os X isnt the OS for me
Yeah its not for everyone. It is really a totally different OS. As for Vista, many have had good luck with it, many have not. I see mostly the ones that have not. But like you some have had good luck with it and even dual boot their Macs with it. (especially the ones looking to play DirectX 10 games)
What’s truly great about the Apple store is everything is hands on, so you know (as your fiance did) if its for you or not.
Yeah I mean thats one thing about the mac that I do Like and stuff I never said Id buy a mac Id love to buy a Macbook pro but Id triple Boot it if I could through Boot camp one partition with Leopard of “Snow Leopard” Ive heard and another Partition with Vista Ultimate and then probably another one with Ubuntu its not the hardware I don’t like its just the OS that inst for me as you’ve said
