Is A Decompression Bomb safe to delete?

I dont like the description of a decompression bomb… i have a good idea what it is and does. In saying that, is it safe to delete because my avast scanner doesnt want to scan it and therefore the delete option doesnt apply. So could i do it manually?

also if deleting it is safe…does it solve the problem?

One there is no need to delete it, certainly not without investigation, as a decompression bomb is just a file that although small in size it could be very large when uncompressed. There may be legitimate reasons for using multiple compression tools to make it smaller.

What is the suspect file name, what size is it, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\suspect-file-name.xxx) ?

I would treat any crack as highly suspect and you are very likely to get unwelcome gifts along with any crack. Who are you going to tell if it has a trojan when what you are doing breaks a number of copyright laws, which obviously we can’t condone.

So your first suggestion to deletion is probably correct, or rather uninstall the crack.

thats a reasonable answer.

Im not a big fan of cracks anyway…twas my first one… now i know to be more suspicious. Deletion sounds like a good idea.
