@OP: Yes, you’ve to buy a license for each machine.

E.g.: Buy a license for 1/2/3 years for your 2 machines.

You need one license for each computer unless you purchased a license that covers more than one computer.

If avast! is for home use, then you can install the FREE version on all of your home computers - Desktops, Laptops or tablets.

I am a pensioner so I not sure now ,whether it is worth buying for my new desktop ,as I will be using the desktop ,most of the time,as I have disability to get around,it is the only thing I can do now, and have the free Avast for the laptop only.
