I keep getting customers that call me telling them their avast trial is about to run out and that they can’t see where they can register for free. It always turns out that they have the Internet Security Trial. I use to think they clicked on try Internet security and did it themselves.
But then on my media center which also has Avast, had the exact same thing. I NEVER do anything on that computer other than watch videos, so there is NO WAY I clicked anything to give me Internet Security.
Is Avast automatically installing the Internet Security Trial of people who have the free version to try to dupe them to buying it?
Certainly not! They do make an attractive offer to try IS but simply selecting stay with the free version, accomplishes exactly that.

Then i’m really curious how so many people get the trial version including my media center in which Avast free has not been touched other than to install Avast updates.
Nope, once again, I have never clicked on any sort of try Internet Security on my Media center. I already knew everything in that Video and I would not have clicked those buttons
I’ve used the free version for over 10 years and have never been switched to a paid version.
I have seen it on friends computers who didn’t pay attention wind up with a paid version and then
call me to find out what happened.

where Avast 8 Free is changing itself to Avast 8 IS Trial.It was some bug or something.
Solution for my problem was clean installation.
