Is Avast keeping me from going to online banking sites??

I have 2 laptops, one for gaming and one for business. I have been unable to go to a bank online with my business laptop. I try to login and it takes me to a verification page to make sure I am who I am. I try to verify myself, but the page where I verify never shows up then it just takes me right back to the verification page. So I tried using my gaming laptop…exact same thing. I called the bank and there is no problem with them. I use my wifes laptop and NO problem logging in. My business pc is Win 7…gaming is Win 8. The common denominator to the 2 is Avast! Is anyone else having this type of problem? Any…I mean ANY help at all will be very much appreciated!!

Which version of avast are you using? Free? Pro? Internet Security? Which browser are you using? Have you cleaned out your cookies and temp files?

I am using the Pro edition,on my gaming pc I have IE only…on my business pc I have IE,Chrome and Firefox ( can’t log in using any of these), on my business pc I have cleaned the temp files and cookies…NOT on my gaming one ( have not gotten around to it yet). Also, on my business pc I ran Avast to look for a virus after I ran a malware program. Avast found one bad file and asked me what I wanted to do…so I deleted it. It then asked me if I wanted to do another scan…I thought may as well. I clicked yes and it took me to a DOS like screen…white figures on a black screen. I let it run and it said it found a number of infected files…asked if I wanted to delete them…I clicked YES…when it was all done I rebooted and now my pc can’t even connect to the internet now. It’s wireless of course and my pc can’t find anything…I assume Avast! deleted something it should not have.

Never delete anything your not sure of. Quarantine only. Avast told you to do a boot scan. You can try doing a system restore in safe mode.
