???
Is Avast the only free antivirus with web protection included?
does Avast with Web Shield enabled slow the system down?
Is the http scanner really neccessary?
Is It consider a security blanket or not?
What about the mozilla firefox noscript?
Otherwise, I have read this post:“The strength of the HTTP scanner (in avast parlance, the Web Shield), on the other hand, is that it can guard the integrity of your browser. Web browsers have become one of the most important infection vectors (especially for spyware-type malware), and experience has shown that it makes VERY GOOD SENSE to protect them by inspecting the downloaded data, BEFORE they reach the browser.”
Best Regards, Folks!
;D
Avast is not the only one, but from my own tests Avast is the only one that doesnt turn your pc into a zombie (slowdown) your pc.
I’m not sure, but I think Antivir and AVG don’t include this kind of protection.
Don’t seems to have a great impact. Although, if you use tabbed browsing and a lot of tabs opened, well, you could experiment a slowdown.
Is the best balance between performance (scanning all files) and protection (comming at http traffic).
No, it protects http traffic only. It’s not little, but it’s not all.
A must have.
