Is Celframe really compatible with avast?

Celframe Free Antivirus says it is compatible with other running antivirus.
It can also run as standalone.

Does anybody tested it?

Why avast is not in their website?
Maybe Web Shield incompatibility? http://www.celframe.com/free-antivirus/index.php/product/how-it-works

Oh, sorry, I’ve forgot the picture.

Tech,
How did you stumble upon this one ???
Have you looked at the so called Forum ???
Community protection ??? Sounds like something I’ve heard before.
No mention of how big a community they are talking about.

Hi,

Yes i am using it along side Avast. Celframe Free Anti Virus compatible with Avast. In my community there are 8900 people now

8900 isn’t gonna bring much protection,even 89000,and probably 890000 either.

Thanks sean. I was just about to look for this answer.
A community always starts small
When I joinned avast, we were 731 users at the community

I wonder if it will work on Windows 8 ???

So I asked them that Question and here’s the reply I received:

Hi Bob,

Thank you for your query.

Yes, celframe free anti virus works on all windows OSes
Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance and Thank you for your business!

Sincerely,

Aaron Peterson,
Strategos-Support

Next, I’ll test that answer on one of the test computers set up with Windows 8

I hope you remember this: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=78891.0

Hopefully the reliability of their AV is better than their support.
According to the answer I received and posted, it was compatible
with Windows 8 Developers Preview… WRONG

It installed, just didn’t work.

It’s now been uninstalled and the system has been restored
to a point prior to the programs installation.
avast! is smart enough to have told me that it wasn’t yet ready for Windows 8.

I’ve forgotten that… as a lot of other threads are being forgotten…
Thanks for pointing me out. But seems things have changed since then.

Bob, besides MSE, is any other antivirus prepared for Windows 8? I think not. Their website say it is compatible with Windows 7.

Their letter from support (see my post) said it’s compatible with Windows 8 :frowning:

I haven’t really looked for others but am waiting for news from Avast.

Question. Why would anyone use two active anti-virus programs at the same time? ???

Hi,

I agree, my network i now 9280 in few days and it is growing. I heard from my co-worker his network is larger. Hope it grows bigger

Sean

Hi Bob,

I tested Celframe Free AntiVirus in Windows 8 32bit ver and it worked fine :). Testing Avast along side Celframe Free AntiVirus ;D

It installed but did nothing and I couldn’t even access it to get to the settings, In task manager it showed as not doing anything just using memory.
I assume your statement about using Celframe and avast! together referred to Windows 7 ???

Well… On my tests, it is NOT compatible with avast. Take care, really, take care.
They’re promising much more than they’re releasing.
