I downloaded/ran clamwin portable from portable apps (scanned with Avast before I ran the executable).
Does anybody have any experience with Clamwin AV? Is it safe?
Well it is an on-demand, open source AV application, though I have never used it nor know how effective its detections are.
It shouldn’t be a problem as a back-up scanner to avast as it is on-demand only.
It’s just an portable av for my flash drive, I was just unsure if it was dangerous.
Avast didn’t detect anything, should it be okay then?
(I’m one of those people that sees viruses everywhere)

ClamWin is a open source on-demand only Virus scanner, I to use it on one of my USB drives with the PortableApps platform because the platform only offers the use of Open Source software. If you are wondering about the detection rates the last I heard or read anything the detection rates are not that great.
