Is IObit Security 360 the Strongest Free Anti-malware — Test It!

Hello All,

IObit Security 360 (Homepage) is throwing down the gauntlet and we need your help! We are inviting our members, both IT professionals and amateur home users alike, to put us to the test! That’s right! We want you to put your knowledge to work and test IObit Security 360 against ANY FREE or LIMITED USE anti-malware program to prove that we are the best!

Based from those tests, most of the attacks were not blocked by Iobit’s resident protection^^

So, Im sticking with avast, MSE, MBAM combo^^

The free versions are just adverising for the Pro versions IMHO.

I think I shall pass that invitation

Whats MSE?

Microsoft Security Essentials.
The antimalware from Microsoft.

Its in beta and will be available with Windows 7 in October.

Yup^^

MSE stands for Microsoft Security Essentials^^

Its free and works with the current avast^^

It seems that they are underestimating high-end anti-malware products because they only used the free version of them.

Problem with free version is that scan engine lacks half of the better features. So bottom line, it’s heavily crippled and useless.

My God?

I thought you were not supposed to run two anti-virus real time together ??? ??? ::slight_smile:
And isn’t Avast! good enough anti-virus wise ???

lord oh lord…you guys, whoever you are are looking for troubles by:

1 calling your tool a “Microsoft Registry Cleaner” ;D
2 saying that MS certified it ::slight_smile:

you should redesign the whole page and call the tool something else before you get a call from an MS lawyer

edit: where’s the link to the PC world review ?

edit: friends or colleagues ? http://www.microsoftregistrycleaner.net/

@drhayden1
This has been discussed many times.

No one anti virus application is 100% effective.

MSE is part of Layered Protection for your system.

MSE will be included in Windows 7 and fully co-exists with avast!

It replaces Defender?

absolutely not. How could it replace Windows defender that’s already integrated in all versions of Win7. The only thing is that once MSE is installed, Win defender is automatically disabled.

Ahh, Ok thanks for the clarification

It does:
Q: Is Microsoft Security Essentials designed to replace Windows Defender?
A: No but if you are running Microsoft Security Essentials, you do not need to run Windows Defender. Microsoft Security Essentials is designed to disable Windows Defender in order to manage the PC’s real-time protection, including anti-virus, rootkits, Trojans and spyware.
http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94729 <== MSE is not beta now.

come on, you’re confirming yourself what I said; it disables defender, but is not meant to replace it. Replacing it in Win7 would mean it’d be included in win7 set up and installed as default. It’s just a matter of choosing the right words  Also, I read (got to find the link) MS doesn’t intend to ever integrate MSE in Windows, it will always be an optional download.
