Is it a False Positive?

Hi avast team i just wanna ask, last week i full scanned my laptop and there are no infection. Today i full scanned my laptop and it was saying that my installer a power iso installer which has a keygen on it (normally for a crack software), is a virus. Is it because of the new anti virus update on avast? It is the first time that avast considered my crack as a virus. Thanks in advance.

And you are wondering why it is detected as malware?
Come on, stop using illegal software.
About all cracks contain malware.

Thanks for the reply. Any idea why is it avast full scan didn’t detect my crack software in past months and days of scanning, and why it is detecting it now. Thanks in advance.

New detections are added several times a day.

I see so basically it is considered false positive? Cause past update definition of avast it didn’t detect the crack of my software.

I think you’ve got that backwards.

It is sometimes a false positive the iso installer file.

That’s why im wandering cause if this crack is really harmful avast detect it on the first place when i first pasted this installer on my laptop. It is just a recent detection that avast consider my crack harmful.

upload and test supicious file(s) here www.virustotal.com / www.metascan-online.com if tested before, click rescan for a fresh result

Darned, you Pondus, beaten me to it with a millisecond… :frowning:
Did you scan with metascan online to see what anti-malware detect this so-called “benign” crack, if such a bird exists. ;D
I think of something flagged there Avast is not the only one…
