Is it me or is Firefox faster/quicker?
On a whim I decided to use FF this morning and it seems to be faster.
By faster I mean faster than Chrome and faster than before.
Haven’t noticed, I don’t use Chrome either and I’m not using the beta on this XP system…
But you are using the beta version of avast (9.0.2014) and that has meant to have improved Stream filtering (new web shield proxy function).
- Stream Filtering – fixed stability and compatibility issues, it’s running smooth and fast now, so no more browsing problems
- so it is possible that this may have improved browsing.
I know the stream filtering is better but still FF loads webpages faster than Chrome.
speedtest.net results… (I’m on an 8 mbs connection)
Firefox Ping: 63 ms. Download: 8.84 mb/sec. Upload: .53 mb/sec.
Chrome 66 ms. 8.58 mb/sec. .53 mb/sec.
Firefox (12/18/2014) 75ms 9.23 mb/sec. .75 mb/sec.
Firefox is faster than before! 8)
