After installing avast antivirus my computer is becoming much slower.
That is no case with oder antivirus programs.

What version of windows do you have? ther is a known bug with win 98-ME (Win9x) that causes some problems and this will more than likely be fixed in the next PROGRAM update not database
Hmmm … I must be the lucky one without that bug. 
The fact is that my W98SE computer is a bit quicker & more stable since I started using avast! than it was with the terrrible McAfee.
