Hello
If avast is not showing in the field next to the clock, is it not running? And if yes, is it running properly? Im having some possible virus problems on my computer, and this boot Avast did not show up. Can the virus turn Avast OFF?

You should see these in task manager, if avast is running.

All except ashDisp is present. Instead of ashDisp I have ashSimpl.exe. Maybe since I do not run the professional edt?

have you tried to repair your avast installation? ??? Add/Remove programs find avast, and check repair in the options. But at first you should try this:

Fix tool for missing tray icons!
Download it here: http://freeweb.siol.net/razor256/downloads/aswTrayIconFix.zip
Download it and extract aswTrayIconFix.exe anywhere you want.
Run it and just click Fix button. Log off and log in again or simply restart your PC and icons should be back again. The program is standalone extract&use (although it looks like installer).

To fix the problem, just add the path to ashDisp.exe into
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
(as the value named avast!).
