Is it possible update Avast Pro4.8 to Avast Pro5.0 ?

Hello all,

I tried to install the Avast Pro5.0 but the licensing method is changed.

How do I update Avast Pro4.8 to Avast Pro5.0 within the license period ?

it SHOULD be possible, but dont expect ur license to transfer (even tho they say its supposed to) i can tell u from my own experience, it does NOT trasnfer…

Must be Murphy’s law at work. Will work on some comps and not others
I downloaded Avast 5 and installed over 4.8 and all went well, License transferred okay, still got over 2 years left.

No problems here either, though I admit that Murphy can be a rather nasty guy…

Downloaded Avast Pro 5 and just installed over my 4.8.
18 months left… :slight_smile:

So, am I uninstall Avast Pro5 and install Avast Pro4.8 again?

After that, install Avast Pro5 over Pro4.8. Then it would be licensed automatically.

is it correct?

yeah its correct.

Lets hope u can license your v5 doing the upgrade. I have had bad experience during setup, v5 didnt recognize my 4.8 license, and something is going wrong during installation because i can install it, but when it calls the conversion of the license, it says im not online. But when i uninstall v5 pro, and install v5 free, everything is fine. What is wrong with v5 pro installer?? is it my system??

I did the same on my XP Pro system but I only have 3 months left and will be renewing then. 8)
