Is it Safe to Delete?

I noticed every time I boot my computer, I open the Task Manager and iTunesHelper.exe and QTTask.exe is on. Is it safe to delete the entries using Ccleaner or HJT?

Can you check these files submitting them to JOTTI or VirusTotal and let us know the result?
VirusTotal is better.

Nothing was found. The processes are still running in the task manager but I’n not using iTunes or Quiktime at the moment.

So, I think you can delete them if you don’t need them running in background.

You should just stop them from starting on boot, QuickTime should have settings to stop it from starting on boot. I don’t know about iTunesHelper.

There are some application that when you install them you may get other applications and I can’t recall if you install quicktime you get ituneshelper if you don’t deselect it on install. I know you said you don’t use them but there are most certainly there.

Windows, Start, ‘Run’ and type ‘msconfig’ without the quotes, when the pop-up opens, click the startup tab. Now look for entries for those two files and uncheck the box to the left of them, don’t delete the entry, just uncheck them, save, exit and reboot.
