Is it safe to join private game Discord servers, and how can I check if they are secure?

Hi everyone,

I recently came across a private game server community that also has its own Discord server for updates and support. Before joining, I wanted to ask about security concerns.

Sometimes antivirus programs flag unofficial game servers or related downloads as suspicious. I want to understand:

  • How can I check if a private game Discord server is safe?

  • Can Discord invite links contain malware or phishing risks?

  • What should I verify before downloading anything shared in such communities?

  • Does Avast detect malicious links shared inside Discord chats?

For example, I was looking at a community page related to a private Brawl Stars server that also provides a Discord server for players. I just want to make sure I’m not putting my device or data at risk before joining or clicking anything.

Any advice on how to verify safety using Avast tools would be appreciated.
