Ok, so I ran it once, and it generated a fixlog. However, I didn’t see this at first, so attempted to press “fix” again, whereupon the program stopped working and I had to exit it using Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Is this a problem, or is it okay? Anyways, I have attached the fixlow.
What problems are you seeing now ?
In general, you mean? It seems to be working fine, maybe a bit slow when loading webpages and such, but nothing extraordinary.
You probably need to empty your temporary files… FRST did not achieve that as you stopped it
Clear Cache/Temp Files
Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop
[*] Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
[*]It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
[*]Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
[*]Once it’s finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.
When I tried dowloading the program you posted a link to, avast popped up, saying it had blocked an infection from that site. It was called “FileRepMalware”. I take it this is not what was supposed to happen?
tools used here are frequently detected, especially after a update
right click avast tray icon, pause shields … and try again
I have now downloaded and run it, it didn’t reboot automatically, so I did i manually. Is there anything else I should do, or is anything fine now?
How is the computer behaving ?
I would say pretty much the same as before, but maybe a tad faster. All in all I wouldn’t say there are any problems now. I just want to be sure that there aren’t any problems “beneath the surface” so to speak. But everything seems fine to me atm.
Subject to no further problems
I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems
Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

: Keep Java Updated :
WARNING: Java is the #1 exploited program at this time. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that computer users disable Java

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)
If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
