got an email a week or so ago offering me a chance to renew my lapsed subscription for $20. I specifically did not renew because it was full price with no sale, while avira has sales all the time. $20 is decent price though and i just built a new computer so i may throw it on that.

Thing is the email is a bit odd, the sender is renewal@email2.avast.com is that legit? the subject was Avast wants you back! (Massive discount enclosed)

I just want to make sure its real before i go and enter my cc info on the link it takes me to. It looks like a secure connection with the avast store address but i want to double check.

Side question. Does your account go away when your sub lapses? I couldn’t log in, it said my email address didn’t exist, i hard to remake my account to post this

It is a legitimate email address.

No, your account does not go away when a subscription expires or when you don’t use avast anymore.

thanks i’ll renew through it then… thats very strange then, why did i have to remake an account then with my email, it hasn’t changed

Just some guesses:

You got the initial license with a different email address
You have changed the email address on http://my.avast.com
Somewhere you made a typo
