According to a Yahoo article there was a group of Estonians that were arrested who had servers routing and changing over half a million DNS. The article stated that the federal government had moved the users from the Estonians servers to their own and that the federal servers where going to be shut down in July. The article recommended that everyone visit http://www.dcwg.org/ to see if their computer was affected and then use the instructions or site to fix the rerouted DNS address. My questions are:
- Is this article legit?
- Has Avast included this fix in their virus/trojan/spam protection?
- If you have a recognized browsing service such as Comcast or At&T, etc. would you be at risk?
I searched through the forums and cannot find this specific problem.
We are on a cable modem environment with a DLink wireless router with PC/Laptop/Xbox combo running Win 7 and Vista OS.
A prompt response would be appreciated.
