Is the problem my computer or with AVAST!

Yesterday Avast! stopped working after i had to force restart my computer, it says i am “unsecured” and the Fix now button dose nothing. it also says i am “REGISTERED” in green letters but it also says i have 0 days remaining(says i got till 19/03/13). Nothing seems to work i have done the “repair”,“update” options but with no results…I am not very computer savvy so i dont know whats going on i am also getting a “windows security alerts” and it says my “malwere protection” is “off” but when i hit the “turn on now” button nothing happens

i have no idea what my computers specifications are all i know is its WindowsVista

This also happened to me today as I wrote in another thread. My registration should be valid until 2013-12-20 but I also have 0 remaining days.

Then the problem might be with Avast! itself? i hope i hear from someone soon(never had issues with Avast! till now).

It seems that nothing on Avast! works…if i try to scan it says something about “endpoints”, if i try to update under maintenance it says “Failed to update the Avast! service is not running”

This is the same problem I have - see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=114488.0 My licence expires on the 24th March 2013. It does look like an avast problem and I’ve contacted technical support - wonder how long a reply will take …

after using fix now button…did you reboot?..any change?

have you tried avast repair
ad remove programs / avast / uninstall / repair option…wait a minute and reboot

any changes?

I did Reboot and nothing it loads up and has a little x over the icon and says “warning your system is unsecured” when i hover over it.

And i did the repair and then reboot no effect
i did the update then boot no effect.

I’m also having the same problem!

I tried the “Fix now” and rebooted and nothing changed. Then I tried to repair and that didn’t help either.
And the same thing with “0 days remaining” is still there.
I read in another thread about someone having the a similar problem and that he updated java last night. I think I also did that last night on this machine. Could that be the cause of the problem?

That update worked just fine for me also :slight_smile: Now it’s 317 days remaining instead of 0
