Is there a VIRUS pressent? REAL-TIME Shields are turned off/Unable to turn on.

I’m new to this forum and need help. The real-time shields on my Anti-Virus Pro are turned off. When I try turning them back on, I get a message of "The following components could not be turned on: File System Shield, P2P Shield & IM Shield.

I did a Full System and a Boot-time scan and following threat was detected: WMA:Wimad [Drp]

I was unable to repair or move to chest as it stated the file was too large so i deleted it.

I then restarted my PC but the Real-time shields were still disabled and unable to be turned on.

Please help me.

do you have any other security programs installed?

try avast repair

controlpanel > ad remove programs > avast > uninstall > repair option…wait a minute or two and reboot

any change ?

I don’t have another security program installed. Should I?

The avast repair worked. The shields were on.

Should I run a full scan to be sure i haven’t been infected by a virus?

have you tried the suggested pondus gave you did it help?

You could try a scan with avast an see if it comes up with something.
or you could follow this guide and a malware expert will help you from there.
