i gone to look up a item and came across a url site (web-site) there was a worm on the site that trip Avast! 4.6 but i report it in i can’t add the site into the report were i got it from? into the Virus report were it came from url address.
If avast detected the worm then perhaps there shouldn’t be a need to send a virus report, avast couldn’t do anything further from having the url as avast 4 home/pro doesn’t monitor or block URLs.
If however, it didn’t detect the virus and you found it using another resource then if you can zip and password protect (‘virus’, will do) the suspect file and send it to virus @ avast.com (no spaces). By sending your own email it will give you lots of room for comments, etc.
Give a brief outline of the problem, the fact that you believe it to be a (undetected/false positive) and include the password in the body of the email. Some info on the avast version and VPS number (see about avast {right click avast icon}) will also help.
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive.
