Is there a way to uninstall antitheft after device has had rom reflashed?

Hi Guys

I’m asking this cuz I’ve given my old phone to a friend after theirs died. Had a slight prob at the time re home button would seem to activate when going in to settings so couldn’t change any settings. Solution was to reflash the rom. Of course I forgot to uninstall first and found that antitheft survived the flashing process ::slight_smile: Obviously I still know my pin so can silence it when it’s powered back up, etc. I’m hoping to be able to uninstall it from that device or at least maybe get it to accept the new sim card. Is there a way to do this? Could I Use an sms command to get it to accept the new sim or such? Could I reinstall avast using my account on that phone and then change the behaviour and/or uninstall if my friend wishes? Mind you I think that it survived flashing has impressed my friend and he may end up being a convert

Hopefully I’ve managed to turn of antitheft for now on that phone. I’ll know later

You can reinstall Avast Mobile Security, then use its commands to install/uninstall the Anti-Theft.

Please, read https://blog.avast.com/2014/07/02/how-to-prevent-unnecessary-costs-of-avast-sms-notifications-when-replacing-your-sim-card/ to know more about why Avast needs to communicate via SMS and how to prevent unnecessary costs.

Alternatively we offer a uninstall.zip at
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27553331/root%20uninstall.zip
unzip it and run uninstall.bat with your phone connected via USB to the pc. make sure usb-debugging is enabeled on your phone and the phone driver is installed on the PC.
If you do it on the PC where you rooted your phone you usually have these drivers available.
