Whilst there is no official off-topic forum (that was closed many years ago), but there is some general (excuse the pun) leeway given in the General forum. But lets not confuse that with a chat room rather than a forum.
The General forum is meant to be about these forums “anything and everything about this board.” The latitude is more for computer related non-avast subjects and some general interest topics. Browse it and you will get a reasonable idea of what is generally (excuse pun again) acceptable, enjoy.
Yes, taking a quick read in the General Forum will give one a pretty good idea what the scope seems to be.

The last moderators of the off-topic sub-forum wouldn’t agree with you - it was a thankless task - trying to be a moderator in what is a forum for all sorts of crazy topics is almost impossible. Frequently it required intervention by avast team moderators and that I guess was why it got closed.
